Vylet to Telc

Hey whats up fam!! Pretty good week except that I got sick on Thursday so that was not fun but at least it was only for a day! Just when I thought it was starting to warm up we got hit with a lot of snow which kinda sucked and I slipped and ate crap so that sucked have a nice big bruise on my butt!

SO Tuesday we had training in Ceske budejovice Super pretty town like gorgeous pretty! Elder Gubler served there so after while we were waiting for our train he showed me around!! Training was really good it was about getting people to church and all that jazz! It was fun to see Elder Mueller but I missed seeing Schmutz and Jarvis because we aren't in the same zone anymore which is sad! But good Day

Wednesday was good, just went contacting all day and then helped a member with something and then taught English! The afternoon was kinda rough because I felt myself getting sick so it was hard to get going. Then Thursday I slept in because I was not feeling good, bad cold but felt better that later that night still a dumb day not being able to do anything but I did finish the Book of Mormon so that was good!

Friday we just contacted all day and didn;t have much success which stunk but still good then headed to inspiration night and it was great Marcella came with her family and brought her mom so that was awesome she is so ready for baptism, just needs to quit smoking! She is so Golden!

Saturday we didn't work on the farm because Jarda was out of town so we contacted and at night then went to Catholic mass with one of our investigators it was pretty freaking weird but was cool! After we got pizza and had a lesson about prophets and hooked her up with the Gospel Library app and she was super excited she really likes general conference talks!!!! SO awesome!

Sunday was great we had 5!! investigators at church it was awesome Elder Gubler gave a talk on the gospel of Jesus Christ it was exactly what they need to hear!!!

Overall great week except for Thursday!!

Great seems to be the word of the week...

What is up everybody!!! Mom so cool to hear about your search for your birth parents and actually finding them that is so awesome!! When are you going to meet with them face to face? Congrats Kennedy for going through the temple such an amazing thing! Sounds like everyone had a super week and good hear that the Patriots didn't win the super bowl.  We had a lesson in the mall yesterday and I saw the preview through the window when we walked in yeah that kinda hurt my soul but all good, I survived missing my 1st super bowl!!

So my week was good, Tuesday we just had contacting and English on that day, it was a good day.
Wednesday was also good we took a bus up to a small city about a half hour away from here and found 3 people it was awesome.  It was great because they didn't know who we are and we had amazing conversations and it was just a great day!!

Thursday we had district meeting and it was great.  Really am liking my new district there are  a lot of characters  here which is so much fun. We just went to třebič and hung out there and played ping pong and got lunch!!

Friday was frustrating so we went back to Zdar for those 3 lessons and yeah no one showed up! That is the most frustrating part is when you meet people that seem awesome and set up but then they don't show up then block our number! That for me has been the hardest part of my mission; people not coming! But I still got to love these people here even when they are drunk which is 24/7!! Anyways its all good gotta be happy!! Then we headed back to Jihlava for inspiration night which was good the Navrotilovi kids are so cute.  I'll send some pics of me and Ida the cutest little boy ever!!

Saturday we worked on the farm again not as fun as last week.  This week we just cleaned the stables and scooped poop but still a good break!!

Sunday church and a 5 hour contacting block. that was super fun lemme tell ya.... Yeah 0 people all good though!! Marcela our investigator couldn't come to church because her daughter was really sick but we have lesson with her this week so that will be great!!

Also we have Zone training tomorrow and Elder Mueller my trainer is my Zone leader so I'm super excited to see him going to be awesome!!!!

I love this place wouldn't give it up for world.  I love bearing my testimony about God and that he loves them to these people even when that tell me to get lost in not very nice words (starting pick up cuss words).  Yeah I love this place!

Man week one in Jihlava was so great I love my new area the people we are teaching and my companion!!!

SO Tuesday we had two lessons and English so packed day! Our investigators are marcella Pavel and Jiri so awesome! Marcella is about 45 and her husband is Pavel. I haven't met Pavel yet because he has been away for work but Marcella is awesome I love her!! She is close to baptism but just needs to stop smoking and wants to finish the Book of Mormon first! She is great and comes to church every week!!

Not much luck on the finding though have only 1 new investigator but it has been great.  They talk slower here so that is awesome!! I love this city already and ca'nt wait to get more into it!! Way pretty too!!

I get along so well with Elder Gubler hes awesome and has helped me a lot already!!!

Every Saturday we work on this guys farm so much fun we shoveled crap, moved a cow and got to wrangle some sheep so we could shave them!(I have a video).  It was so fun then they feed us a nice Czech meal after which was way awesome some good stuff!!

I'm super excited I have heard some many amazing things about Jihlava and am super excited to be here!!! Its about smack dab in the middle of the Czech Republic!

My last week in Ostrava was great and we had a stoller (?) mom that actually set up with us but the meeting is this week so i wont be there but Schmutz got transferred to Ostrava so that is awesome, I'm excited for him! Yeah Marian couldn't meet with us this past week but we had a lesson set up for Tuesday so that is good!!

So Jihlava yeah im super excited and super excited for my companion!! We have two lessons tomorrow and we have 3 progressing investigators so that is awesome I can't wait to start to work with them!! Also I hear amazing things about the branch here! I can't tell you guys how excited I am for these next 9 weeks its going to be so good!!

čau klucí

Selfie in the Church after English Class
It was a pretty good week here in Ostrava and will most likely be my last week in Ostrava with transfers next Monday! We will be receiving our transfer calls on Saturday and then I will be either be staying or hoping on a train on Monday and email from my new area which I think will most likely happen.

Any way good week! Tuesday we had a lesson with Marian and it went well we taught the plan of salvation and he seemed to like it but had a questions about exorcisms and evil spirits so i was kinda lost because I do not have that vocab yet haha!! It was good! On this Wednesday we have another lesson with him and we are going to just teach the Godhead because he has been praying to Jesus.(at least its not pany marie). So that will be good!!

Then on Thursday we had our first Zone Conference of the New Year and it was really good!! Prez talked about what the goals are for this year and what he expects of us. The bar is really high but we are all ready! Its going to be a fantastic year and
Schmutz and I after Zone Conference
I'm way excited for it!! It was also fun to see Schmutz and Jarvis and what not because that might be the last time I see them for a while if we all switch zones and stuff because of transfers! I really hope I get to serve around those guys at some point out here! Oh and there was a surprise practice at ZC and no one knew and guess who got picked to teach?? Yep we did haha we had to teach the Znovuzřízeni(restoration) in front of the whole zone it wasn't too bad for no practice or materials or anything!! So that was fun...

Had to sprint to the Tram to escape the rain.
Then nothing really exciting happened till Sunday while we were tracting This dude called the cops on us and stuff so they came and talked to us but we weren't doing anything illegal so there were just annoyed with the dude that called and just told us to go home we were like ok and we caught our bus that we had originally planned to take home so that was cool! But yeah that was a fun experience!

Also it has been kinda cold out the last few months; but this week its been freaking cold that humidity European cold that goes through all your layers straight to the soul cold!! SOOO COLD!!!! Other than that that's about it for me!!! Have a grand week everybody!! About to go Play some Settlers of Catan in Czech with the Squad!!!

Miracle!

Well it was the most amazing week! So I'm going to get right into it!

So that referral we received from Opava was from a man named Marian He is older and has 6 kids! So we showed up and his apartment was super sketch! I had two thoughts in my head it was either going to be like Saratov Approach and we were going to die or that this man was going to be golden! The second thought was right! This man has amazing faith! Elder Peterson and I didn't know what to expect so we just had on plan to give him the Kniha Mormonova and try for another lesson! Turns out that this man was prepared! He had found the Book of Mormon online and started to read it there and ordered one because he can only look at a computer screen for so long. He took it and told us that he already knew that the book was true and wanted a hard copy so he could write in it and mark it up! So that was a miracle then we kinda did some HTBT and told him while we were there and he excepted a Baptismal Date for the 10th of February!! It was a miracle!! So we went back on Friday and actually taught the Restoration he accepted it well. He is kinda crazy though he has super solid thoughts but then he told us that he has seen 3 angels! Kinda weird but awesome we are going back tomorrow and probably again this week also! It was just Testimony builder for me that God truly has people prepared for this Gospel!!

It was just overall a great week! Its so nice to have a solid investigator!! Yeah the rest of the week was just contacting and other Missionary work! Its been nice now that the holidays are over and work is getting back to normal!! God is great, Kofola is good and people are crazy!

Super sad to hear about the Death of President Monson. President sent us all a text Wednesday Morning telling us that it happened and told us to get together as districts and tell our favorite talk form him and to send a prayer to his family and sing We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet so that is what we did Wednesday!

So we only have 2 weeks left in the transfer and they are going to fly! Im pretty sure that I will be leaving Ostrava and Heading to a new area which in all honesty I love Ostrava but I'm,ready for a little change of scenery!!

Thats all from me folks!! Have a great week

štasný Novy Rok

Wow Seems like it was a short week but it was a great week! Happy New Year everybody!!! Little insight about a Czech new year; they have fireworks and all that but everyone just buys huge firecrackers like m80 type. So it has been a war zone the last couple days. Its been insane; every once in a while we would just hear a bomb go off!  We woke up a minute before new years so we could celebrate and 1 minute later we thought it was WWIII outside our window.  It was crazy with our windows literally shaking for a hour straight, it was a miracle that I fell back asleep!

My week was pretty great! We found 4 Potential Investigators who we have meetings with this week and then we received a referral from church headquarters (its a miracle I have never received a referral before) that a man in Opava wants a Book of of Mormon so we are actually catching a train to there later this afternoon for that lesson so that will be awesome!

The days are finally starting to get back to normal thankfully there are finally people outside and are willing to talk now that the Holidays are over.

Another highlight of the week was on Thursday we had interviews with President. I love President he is awesome, he blew my mind with some doctrine that I had questions on it was an awesome Interview I wish we could have more then just one every transfer.  Another miracle was most of my interview was in Czech and I actually understood most of it so that was sick!

Other than that not a whole lot has been going down just had a nice good week with some cold weather! Also because 2017 is over I had Ramen for the first time in a year yesterday; that was pretty good  though I remembered it being better but still a great meal but I think I'm going to stick with Cheese and Bread for now!!

Well that is about it for me this week! Sorry not super entertaining this week.
Chris, who has loved and lived on Ramen for most of his life (doused in Tabasco sauce...of course); made a 2017 New Years Resolution to not eat it for the whole year.  HE MADE IT!  It helps that the last 3/4 of the year he has lived in the Czech Republic, that doesn't even sell it though they do sell Tabasco Sauce as you can tell by the almost empty bottle.    He got some packages of Ramen in his Christmas package.
